Over 29 Years In Business

Ray Sheen founded PPI in 1996. The business currently operates from its office in Taylors, South Carolina, USA near Greenville. PPI was started in April of 1996 in Farmington, Connecticut. Initially PPI focused on consulting projects with respect to product development at large multi-national companies and consulting projects with small businesses seeking to obtain ISO9000, QS9000, or AS9000 certification. Within a year, PPI started to teach corporate education programs with both Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, MA and Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) in New Britain, CT.

In the fall of 1999 PPI relocated to Taylors, SC. PPI has maintained its ties with WPI despite the relocation. PPI temporarily dropping the ties with CCSU due to the relocation. However, this relationship was rekindled in 2022. When moving to South Carolian, PPI established ties with Clemson University and taught in their professional development program for several years. 

PPI's focus shifted to more training than consulting in the early 2000’s. In addition, a strong move into the biotech sector ensued, with PPI doing both training and consulting for pharmaceutical and medical device companies. In 2009 PPI started its relationship with the China Institute for Innovation (CII) in Shanghai, China. This continued until 2020 when it was terminated as due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2013 PPI started its relationship with GoSkill.com to provide training programs in an online format. In 2015, PPIs involvement with the utility industry began to grow and its is now one of the strongest sectors in PPI’s portfolio. In 2019, PPI initiated its focus on digital transformation and began to add this service to its offerings. In 2021, Ray Sheen, founder of PPI, began to teach Systems Engineering in the MBA program at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU).

Today, in addition to its consulting activities. PPI continues to provide training through WPI, CCSU, SNHU and GoSkills.com in addition to partnering with other consultants through several consortiums.  The industry sectors include aerospace, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer packaged goods, and utilities.
